It's with great excitement that we announce a new venture in fun on The Waters of Wylie...

In honor of the 5th anniversary of Lake Wylie Music Fest, we're giving the annual event a special trio of gifts: A New Venue! A New Date! and A New on-land Event!
Sweetwater Sports Bar & Grill of Lake Wylie and Satisfaction Marketing are bringing a new flavor to our lake community with the first Lake Wylie Craft Beer Extravaganza which will be set up on the property of the Red Fez Club while the Music Fest frolics in the waters off the shores of the club.  "We're expecting over 50 local and craft beers to provide unlimited samples until the kegs run dry," shares Steve Lorusso, owner of Sweetwater. To get into the Craft Beer Extravaganza, folks will need a ticket providing them full access to the craft beer samplings, food from Sweetwater, on-land arts vendors, a commemorative glass, and a "backstage" experience of the music.

As always, to get into Lake Wylie Music Fest, you just need to enjoy the Fest from your boat. Performers will be staged at the shores of the Red Fez Club. The Music Fest is a FREE community event. In celebration of the Fest's 5th year, organizers have invited back a special selection of Fest Favorites to perform.  "We've had such great music! For this celebration, we're bringing back a selection of much-loved bands from previous years;" says Fest Organizer, Jan Pendleton. "It's all about celebrating our anniversary and the new steps we're taking to bring something more  to The Waters of Wylie."

Sponsor perks: 2 complimentary tickets to the on-land festivities, 2 commemorative event shirts, sponsor goodie bag, sponsor listing on website & e-news, business banners draped on the stage, logos on all promotional materials, and personal involvement in Opening Ceremonies with DrumStrong and The Backstage Jam. Additionally, Performer Sponsors get to share a craft beer with the band!

• Tickets to Craft Beer Extravaganza ... $60 for VIP who can get in an hour early (1pm) for a special sampling of some rare, unique, limited, hard to find beers, avcommemorativevshirt & tasting glass, a gift goodie bag, and personal involvement in Opening Ceremonies with DrumStrong and The Backstage Jam. VIP Tickets will be available exclusively at Sweetwater, 4582 Charlotte Hwy, Lake Wylie, SC 29710 by the end of May.
• $40 for all other tickets to get into the Craft Beer Extravaganza at 2pm, backstage enjoyment of the Music Fest, a variety of vendors to enjoy, and a commemorative glass. $40 Tickets will be available online by the end of May.
• You'll need no ticket for Lake Wylie Music Fest which is completely FREE; you just have to attend and enjoy from your boat! Music begins at 1pm and ends just before dark.

The History of the Fest:

Lake Wylie Music Fest is a free community event designed specifically for boaters.  Opened to The Waters of Wylie in the Summer of 2010 by a fully-volunteer team, the Fest ran 3 events that year and the next, took off 2012, and returned for single event spectaculars in 2013 and 2014.  Known as a "floating fest," Lake Wylie Music Fest has performers on a stage overlooking the lake with all audience in and on the water.  The not-for-profit event has become an expected kick-off to Summer here on the lake drawing upwards of 200 boats (and hundreds of people!) Moving from its birthplace in a portion of Boyd's Cove affectinately known as "The Cow Cove," to the Red Fez Club in 2015 and from its usual date of June to September, organizers expect these shifts plus the partnership with the Craft Beer Extravaganza to be grand opportunities for more participation and fun. "It's going to be the Saturday of Labor Day weekend; kind of a good-bye to Summer and usually an active weekend on the Lake;" offers Pendleton. "Our intention for 2016 is to present both the kick-off and the good-bye to Summer with events in June and September. You know, we set out in 2010 with the battle cry of bringing  funky fun to The Waters of Wylie. In our fifth year, we're just continuing the mission for the folks of our beloved Lake! Buy a ticket and join the fun of the Craft Beer Extravaganza on land or hang out on your boat for free as Lake Wylie Music Fest rocks the waters!"

LAKE WYLIE MUSIC FEST

is a completely volunteer-driven not-for-profit community effort started by an individual lake resident who pulled together musicians, sponsors, equipment, website, e-news, stage and support production, and many, many, many details that can't be remembered.

If one person can do all of this, what can a whole team do?!!!!
