(If you're coming to the land event, GET YOUR TICKET NOW! Sure, you can buy yours at the gate ... but you don't have to wait in the longer "Needs Tickets" line at the gate to get in. You can show the one you bought ahead and you can just stroll on in for some brews, vendors, and chillin' to the music of the Fest.)

Us folks on The Wonderful Waters of Wylie aren't afraid to get wet. We're happy to splash around in our beloved lake ... but there's one thing that can put a downer on a good day out on the boat - rain. (And rain REALLY bums out all the generously-hard-rocking musicians. And so, we've developed a "magic potion" to ward off storms and downpours (altho it rarely works on the scattered pop-up drippy drizzles that frequent hot afternoons around these parts.)
The No Rain Dance has worked "mostly pretty fine" over the years and we ask that you join in to do your part in saving the Fest. Create your own personally-expressive No Rain Dance and do it as often as you can this week... and even during the event itself for good measure. And hey, ..add the chant below for even more ceremonial power!

If you've been to Lake Wylie Music Fest, you know how that works:
- You decorate your boat, pack a delicious picnic, and stock your floating bar.
- You invite cool friends to hang out with you that day and clear your schedule and your mind too.
- You get there early to find the best anchor spot and you take extra care to respect other boats around you.
- You keep safety and fun hand-in-hand and help others around you to do the same.
- And as the day goes along, you cheer and drum, you dance and holler too; because you want to show your grateful support of this FREE event that's especially designed for you.
What can I expect at Lake Wylie Music Fest?
- Anchored Boats of all sizes floating in the waters out in front of the Red Fez Club.
- A waterside stage rocking with music from 1pm - dusk; this year welcoming back performers who have been great hits since the Fest began in 2010.
- It's a floating fest and you make your own floating party on the water as you create it on your boat!
How do I get to Lake Wylie Music Fest & what is the Cost?
- The Fest is FREE but you have to come by boat and there is no land or dock access for you
- The Red Fez Club area can be seen from the Buster Boyd Bridge. Here's a little map to help:

Note please and thanks for honoring the folllowing requirements: There can be no entrance to the land from the water. Please do not dock your boat on club property. The Music Fest is a FLOATING FEST to be enjoyed from The Waters of Wylie. The Beer Extravaganza requires tickets to enter and the entrance is Red Fez Club Road off of Hwy 49.

The History of the Fest:
Lake Wylie Music Fest is a free community event designed specifically for boaters. Opened to The Waters of Wylie in the Summer of 2010 by a fully-volunteer team, the Fest ran 3 events that year and the next, took off 2012, and returned for single event spectaculars in 2013 and 2014. Known as a "floating fest," Lake Wylie Music Fest has performers on a stage overlooking the lake with all audience in and on the water. The not-for-profit event has become an expected kick-off to Summer here on the lake drawing upwards of 200 boats (and hundreds of people!) Moving from its birthplace in a portion of Boyd's Cove affectinately known as "The Cow Cove," to the Red Fez Club in 2015 and from its usual date of June to September, organizers expect these shifts plus the partnership with the Craft Beer Extravaganza to be grand opportunities for more participation and fun. "It's going to be the Saturday of Labor Day weekend; kind of a good-bye to Summer and usually an active weekend on the Lake;" offers Pendleton. "Our intention for 2016 is to present both the kick-off and the good-bye to Summer with events in June and September. You know, we set out in 2010 with the battle cry of bringing funky fun to The Waters of Wylie. In our fifth year, we're just continuing the mission for the folks of our beloved Lake! Buy a ticket and join the fun of the Craft Beer Extravaganza on land or hang out on your boat for free as Lake Wylie Music Fest rocks the waters!"

is a completely volunteer-driven not-for-profit community effort started by an individual lake resident who pulled together musicians, sponsors, equipment, website, e-news, stage and support production, and many, many, many details that can't be remembered.
