During the Summer of 2011, Lake Wylie Music Fest will express itself as 3 Sunset Celebrations - a Summertime event held in 3 parts on the Second Saturday Evenings of June, July, and August. Things crank up around 4pm and run till after dark ending at a neighborly hour.
The Sunset Celebrations will all be held in "The Cow Cove" (aka a portion of Boyd's Cove) on Lake Wylie. Artists will perform on private waterside "stage". The audience will be folks on boats anchored out in the cove. It's set as a laid-back-floating-house-party-festival that promotes area musicians and other festival-style performing artists.
Performances will be watched by boaters from the lake! To attend, folks must come by and anchor out in their boats in the cove.
It’s assumed that boaters will be grilling out, swimming, socializing, drinking, and otherwise enjoying a relaxed Summer evening on The Lake of Wylie. The land/docks will not be available for boaters use. (Although the homeowners may have their own house partiers in attendance.) Lake Wylie’s lake officers of the Charlotte Police Department will be informed of all activities and cruising by at regular intervals as needed and we envision and request no issues requiring their attention!
